Membership Requirements and Guidelines

WELCOME TO THE NEW SACOG 2.0!

All current and future members please read all the information on this page carefully. While some of the requirements listed here may seem to be obvious, it is our experience that it is better to make everything clear so there is no confusion. Failure to comply with any of the terms posted on this page may lead to your membership being suspended or removed and you may also not to be allowed to attend any SACOG sponsored events. We reserve the right to make any changes or additions to the SACOG membership requirements at any time and we will do our best to update everyone as soon as any changes are made. Basics

1. MUST USE YOUR REAL NAME   All members must sign up using their real name. No nicknames, abbreviations, maiden names or other alias's will be allowed.

2.  MUST BE SINGLE
All members must be single and be biblically free to remarry. Members who are discovered to be married, separated or still waiting for a decision on their status will be removed and banned from this site.

3.  MUST BE A SABBATH & HOLY DAY KEEPER
Members must be baptized or seeking baptism and totally committed to living God's way of life. All members will be keeping the seventh day Sabbath, New Testament Passover, Days of Unleavened Bread, Feast of Pentecost, Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, Feast of Tabernacles and the Last Great Day. Members will also be observing the 10 commandments and laws of clean and unclean animals as described in Leviticus 11 and Dt.14 and other basic fundamental beliefs and doctrines that we expect to find in what we consider "Church of God" fellowships. You will be asked in the sign up process to provide the website of which Church of God fellowship you associate with or base your beliefs on. We do not require that members are officially tied to a formal physical organization but only that your beliefs are consistent with what we have briefly outlined here.

4. MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD
In addition, all members must keep their age displayed on their bio.  It is ok however, to hide your date of birth from being displayed. All members must also be 100% honest in listing their real age! 

5. MUST POST A BIO PHOTO AND BIO INFORMATION

All members must immediately post a clear and fairly close-up photo of themselves that is an up to date and accurate representation of them as soon as they are approved. Sunglasses, hats and other accessories that may hinder one's appearance will not be accepted.  (Please note that the system will automatically create an avatar clip art photo or a stock image photo right after you are approved. This will be replaced as soon as you upload your real photo)  You will be able to post any kind of photo in your other bio folders.

In addition to posting a bio photo, all members must immediately write some bio information in the "Description" section on the bio. The system will say that it is optional, but for our purposes, this is a mandatory field. We would like to see at least a good paragraph or two about you but you are welcome to make it much longer if you wish.

PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU DO NOT POST YOUR PHOTO AND FILL OUT THE BIO INFORMATION WITHIN A FEW MINUTES OF BEING APPROVED TO THE SITE,  ALL YOUR INFORMATION WILL BE DELETED AND YOU WILL HAVE TO START ALL OVER AGAIN.

WE DO NOT ALLOW MEMBERS TO JOIN THIS SITE WITHOUT POSTING THEIR PHOTO AND BIO INFORMATION JUST SO THEY CAN SEE WHOS ON THE SITE AND TRY TO CONTACT OTHER MEMBERS BEFORE THEY COMPLETE ALL THEIR INFORMATION.

6. MUST BE A NON-SMOKER
Since we are all striving to be Christ-like, we want all members to be non-smokers.

7. MUST BE WILLING TO AGREE TO BACKGROUND CHECK IF NECESSARY
This may only be necessary in cases where we have little information about a new member or have been given a reason to investigate someone as a result of recent inappropriate behavior. There may be cases where we need to request contact information for your pastor or other references and information to confirm your identity.

8. BE ACTIVE  We encourage all our members to be as active on the site as possible. We don't expect you to login everyday but we want you to be able to check your emails and other site news on a regular basis. Adding new photos, videos, forum postings and participating in other interactive features on the site will help keep this a vibrant and active community. Please keep all your contact information up to date.

Forum and Site Guidelines

Forum: Be Respectful. While we encourage good spirited debate on topics, please be respectful of others views even if you don't agree with them. Remember (Phil 2:3) "Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself."

Photos and Videos: Please make sure any videos or photos you post on this site are in good taste and modest in appearance.

Interaction

We ask that all members conduct themselves with the highest degree of Christian conduct, respect and consideration when interacting with other members. If someone asks you not to write them please be respectful and honor their requests. In the event that you encounter any interaction that you feel is inappropriate, please contact us immediately to help resolve any of those issues. We will maintain as much confidentiality as possible.

Any member who would like to be removed from this site is free to do so. However, we ask that you do give us the reasons why. We want to make sure your decision wasn't based on another member causing you problems. If your reasons for wanting off the site are due to any of our polices, we would like to know that as well.

Our goal is to make SACOG a safe haven for like minded Church of God singles to interact in the most rewarding and enjoyable format we can provide.

System Requirements

SACOG 2.0 should work well on most computers and web browsers. However, we recommend that you have several different browsers on your computer to use. You may expierence some glitches with one browser and not another. You can download additional browsers for free. Some good ones to use are: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Opera and Chrome. This site also works best with a high speed connection.

EMAIL SETTINGS: You will receive notifications in your email when someone sends you a message, writes on your wall, or comments on your photos etc.. They will be sent to your inbox under one of the email addresses below:

Please be sure your email is configured to accept these incoming sources. Also, remember that this site is still new and will have some technical issues from time to time. Your patience in dealing with any problems that arise will be much appreciated.
